Driftmark Documentation

Driftmark helps teams monitor Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 configuration drift, review historical snapshots, compare changes over time, and generate audit-ready reports. These docs are focused on end users of the app: the people who connect tenants, review snapshots, manage users, and use Driftmark day to day.

Core concepts

Workspace

A workspace is your top-level tenant inside Driftmark. It contains:
  • users and roles
  • billing and subscription state
  • Microsoft tenant connections
  • snapshot templates
  • snapshots and drift history

Tenant connection

A tenant connection represents one Microsoft Entra ID tenant connected with application credentials. Each connection can have:
  • its own label
  • a selected snapshot template
  • a snapshot schedule
  • a report schedule
  • a baseline version used for drift comparisons

Snapshot

A snapshot captures the current state of the configured controls for one Microsoft tenant. Driftmark stores:
  • metadata about the run
  • normalized resources
  • normalized items used for comparisons
  • drift summaries for previous-snapshot and baseline comparisons

Template

A template defines which controls are evaluated during a snapshot. Templates let you standardize audit scope across one or many tenants.
